There is so much litter everywhere!
It’s hard not to notice the amount of rubbish that is scattered around us in rural areas. Some of us have started collecting litter from time to time to try to solve the problem.
Last year Moorfoot PTG organised a sponsored event with schoolchildren from Moorfoot Primary to collect litter by walking from Temple Village Hall to Gladhouse Reservoir. The event was well-attended and succeeded in raising funds for the school as well as clearing quite a few bags’ worth of rubbish from the verges.
If you would like to organise a regular litter pick in your area MCC can lend you Hi-Vis vests and litter pickers to help you collect litter safely and to raise awareness of the problem.
